I am intending to study political sciences and these are my top choices, I live in Florida and $ is a big factor in my college decision. Right now I am leaning towards FSU Honors college, while UF and Wake Forest are still being considered. Any suggestions?

If money is a big factor, I would cross Wake Forest off the list unless you get a large scholarship. Bright Futures makes it hard for any out of state school to rank high up on a Florida resident’s prospective college list if money is a big factor.

If you want the honors college experience, I think that is the way to go, particularly if you think you want to go to graduate school.

FSU’s [Political Science](http://polisci.fsu.edu/) program is the best poli sci program in Florida and certainly the most ideally located of all Florida’s universities for this subject.

One study, by [Simon Hix of the London School of Economics](http://personal.lse.ac.uk/HIX/Working_Papers/Hix-PolStudiesReview-2004.pdf) shows FSU’s program ranked 24th in the world in the areas rated.

In this review the schools you mention are rated:

FSU 24 (overall - internationally)
UF 153
Wake Forest does not appear to be listed.

Further, if Florida State is offering Honors and the University Scholarship (not clear if this scholarship is included with your options) I’d say you’re in [Fat City](<a href=“Fat City]Fat - definition of Fat City]Fat by The Free Dictionary”>Fat City - definition of Fat City by The Free Dictionary) for an exceptional, low cost opportunity.

Good luck!

I agree with parent2noles

FSU is a prime location for Poli Sci majors since it is in the capital city of Florida

Wake Forest is a teriffic university. However, is has a long standing reputation as amoung the hardest from an academic, grading and work load stand point. The unofficial slogan of some Wake Forest students used to describe their school is “Work Forest”, Where your best has not been good enough since 1842. "
