FSU vs UF

I have applied to both schools for summer, 2012. My intended major is Nursing. If I was accepted into both, does anyone know which one has the better program. I plan on going to graduate school after for either PA, Nurse Practioner or possible Med School. I think that I'll be able to knock off alot of my freshman classes from my high school aice and ap classes, so hopefully will be able to take more challenging classes that will qualify me for grad school.

So any thoughts on the Nursing program at both. Seen both campuses and liked them both. Im also applying to USF, UCF, Northeastern, U South Carolina and UNC.

My weighted gpa is a 3.92 and I have approx 1800 on SAT's, 30 on act.

Have not been accepted anywhere yet but its way too early.

thank you for your help!!!!

I can’t answer to the Nursing programs, but having Shands right on campus has to be a huge plus. Just a thought…

Good Luck!

That link is from a discussion here in 2009. So I guess they are still supporting undergrad nursing?

Freshmen applicants who want to do nursing in FSU’s nursing program now have to apply to both FSU for general admission and also do a separate app for the Nursing College. If you are accepted to FSU’s nursing program as a freshman applicant, I would give very serious consideration to going to FSU for your nursing career preparation.

It is very competitive getting into nursing programs at any university today and at many universities you apply to a limited enrollment nursing program after a year or two of general studies and prerequiste course work for nursing; you could end up getting denied admission to nursing program after investing 2 years at the school and end up having to change majors or have to transfer to another college to do nursing education. If FSU lets you in their nursing program as a new freshman, it might not be wise to pass FSU up for another college where your ultimate admission to a nursing program is still uncertain.

Thank you, I have already applied to FSU and their nursing program. Its great that they allow one to be in the program in their freshman year.
