FSU will Host Super Regional!

Now sure how many of you all follow baseball, but Vanderbilt defeated National Seed Lousiville in their regional, thus, FSU will now host a 3 game super regional against Vanderbilt. Winner advances to the College World Series in Omaha.

Matt125…fabulous!!! When are the games scheduled?

Friday/6-11: Noon
Saturday/6-12: 1:00 PM
Sunday/6-13 (If Necessary): 1:00 PM

Tickets are 25 dollars for the series in the bleachers. Grand stand is already sold out. Unfortunately, I won’t be back in Tally until Wednesday.

Thanks - very disappointed - won’t be in town then. Wonder if it’ll be on ESPN or something? I’ll be cheering them on regardless!

Friday’s game will be televised on ESPN 2. Saturday and Sunday on ESPN.

Ugh…I won’t be near a tv at those times. Matt125 you’ll just have to update this thread if you can with the results!

In what looked like it was going to be a blowout for Florida State, Vanderbilt slowly erased the 6-0 lead FSU took in the first two innings. Going into the bottom of the 9th tied at 8, closing pitcher Mike McGee closed the game by hitting a walkoff homer to right.

'Noles lead the series 1-0, and will advance to the College World Series in Omaha with a win Saturday or Sunday.

AWESOME! Thanks Matt125! Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a win tomorrow!

Go 'Noles! :D

FSU drops game two, 6-2, after getting a quality start from Michael Busch (7 IP, 3 R, 1 ER).

Tomorrow’s game will be the decider of who goes to Omaha.

Go 'Noles!

Florida State wins the deciding game three, 6-3, and have punched their ticket to the College World Series in Omaha!

They will face the TCU Horned Frogs in the first round of the world series. Once all the super regionals are finished, I will post a bracket.

Go 'Noles!

Wasn’t the score of game three 7 to 6?

You are right; 7-6 was the final. I mixed it up with another score; didn’t get to watch today’s game unfortunately.

FSU plays its first game Saturday at 2 PM. The first part of the college world series is similar to a regional; four teams, double elimination.

We will play TCU in game 1, then depending on the outcome, we will play either UF or UCLA in game 2 on Monday.

The other bracket has Oklahoma, South Carolina, Clemson, and Arizona State. The two bracket champions play in a three game series for the national championship.

Can’t wait!

Noles dropped the first game 8-1. They will have to win their next four to remain alive and make it to the finals of the CWS.

They begin competing in the loser’s bracket tomorrow at 4:30 PM ET, likely against the Florida Gators, who are currently losing to UCLA 11-3 in the 9th.

I’d be satisfied if we could just eliminate UF.

Yeah, the game was painful to watch. The top of the first seemed to be a good start. Then the bottom of the first, and … well… the bottom fell out. Gilmartin did not have a good day. Neither did anyone else for the Seminoles for that matter. Except for Johnson. GIVE THAT BOY A SCHOLARSHIP FSU. He is still a walk on. Surely next year that will change.

And the FSU UF game is Monday.

It’s 1-2-and BBQ for the Gators! Noles win 8-5, and continue in the losers bracket. No matter what happens from this point forward, I think we can all consider this season a success. Though the 'Noles came into the season with high expectations, inconsistent pitching had many people not even expecting this team to make it to the super regionals.

UCLA just beat TCU, so the 'Noles will play TCU on Wednesday at 7:00 PM (Purke, TCU’s ace, should not be starting). Loser goes home; winner faces UCLA.

For the Noles to advance to the finals of the CWS, they will need to beat TCU on Wednesday, and defeat UCLA two games in a row.

Go 'Noles! It’s an uphill battle, but so was the ACC Tournament.

Thanks Matt125 for the update! I’m so happy FSU beat UF so no matter what happens (of course I would like to see FSU win) from this point forward, it’s all good!

It was a great game!!! Got a little scary at the end, but a great game.
