FTCAP rescheduling help

My FTCAP date is scheduled for the 27th of May, I have been trying to get a different date for a few weeks now. The online date changing form, for lack of a better word, is no help. I have to wait to see if any days that work for me will show up. Initially I wanted June 8th, because that is the only day that will really work well for me. Now I just want a day in early June but the only days that are free are in July or the very end of June. I can keep waiting to change the date, hoping that a good day frees up but I think it is getting more and more unlikely. I am worried that these late dates will mean that I wont be able to create a good schedule for myself and I might even miss out on some classes I need to take.

I saw that there was a number to call if none of the available days would work so last week I called the FTCAP office and talked to a rather rude woman about my issue. She was absolutely no help. I was hoping there was some sort of waiting list I could be put on for certain days so that if someone canceled, I could be put on the list. When I asked about this I was rudely shut down with some nonsense about there being 200 kids scheduled for each day and if I wanted to be scheduled for that day, which wasn't what I was asking at all, I would make the meetings last until 10 PM.

Am I really stuck refreshing the page multiple times daily to see if another day frees up? Should I miss my last day of high school where I would receive my cap and gown among other things so that I will still have a chance at getting good classes? Would it be better to schedule later in the summer or will my scheduling fears be confirmed?

ok…

well, seeing as you have already called once, I would call again. Explain your situation again, and hope you get someone different. They say “the squeaky wheel gets the oil”…you’ve just gotta be the squeaky wheel. These online systems are set up so that people have to do less work, and the more work you make them do (by answering your question over and over) the more likely it is they are going to help you, for the sake of keeping you from calling back, over and over.

I had a similiar situation. I called and spoke to a woman (probably the same one you did…acted like she was doing me a big favor) who explained the same “there are 250 students scheduling each day”, etc. However, she gave me dates that were not appearing as available online. So, I would try again and emphasize the point about your high school graduation, etc. Good luck!
