Fu Foundation vs Cornell

I've gotten into both and plan to major in Chemical Engineering. I have heard that Cornell is better for engineering, but Columbia has its own pros for me. This said, is the engineering department in Columbia comparable to that of Cornell?

They are both excellent engineering schools. What is it about Columbia that appeals to you?

Cornell is undoubtedly the better engineering school of the two. Also, keep in mind that Columbia does have quite a large humanities core.

It all comes down to whether or not you want to be a real engineer or go into something like finance, or ibanking. If you want to be a pure engineer, go to cornell. If you want to go into finance or investment banking, you can't beat Columbia; it's right smack dab in the middle of the financial capital of the world, which is great for recruiting.

It also matters whether you want to spend 4 years in the city or 4 years in the countrt. Cornell has a better program, but the city is more exciting.

Yeah but a campus social life beats a city in my book any day of the week.
