2. if being a "legacy" student will help

<p>I think that no matter what, you still have to take the entrance exams. The entrance exams you have to take as a foreigner are supposedly easier than the mainland tests, but harder than the Taiwan/Hong Kong tests. You also have to be over 18 to apply, I think. If I recall correctly, the tests you have to take involve Chinese language, Chinese history, and something else relevant to your major. It’s easier for foreign students to get in than Mainland, and I can’t answer the other two questions. </p>
<p>Make sure you are skilled in Chinese.</p>
<p>Assuming you are not a Chinese citizen, you don’t have to take the National Entrance Exam (equivalent to Chinese SAT) but you do have to take the HSK Exam (equivalent to Toefl). The only exeption is if you can find a program that is taught in English and likely doesn’t require HSK. Some universities have it and I know Fudan is quite international so you have a good chance. I would contact their International student office.</p>
<p>FYI not really my business but why do you want to study in China especially since you have good SAT and appearantly doesn’t lack tuition $$?</p>
