Full Classes

So, I've been checking out the online bulletin and many of the classes I'd like to enroll in next year are full. I've heard one can enroll in full classes with the professor's permission, but I've also heard little priority is given to first year students in these circumstances.

I'm wondering how difficult it will be for me to get into a full Arabic I or PE class this fall?

PE might be doable to get into. If you go the first day of class, sometimes the instructors will let you in if someone who enrolled doesnt show up for the first couple of days. It really depends on the class itself though…if it’s something like weight training, running, swimming, etc. you will probably be able to get in. If it’s like fencing or judo/karate then probably not.

Arabic you almost certainly won’t be able to get into unless you fall under the category of heritage student, then you might have a chance (ie are from an arabic speaking country).

As an incoming freshman, am I right under the assumption that I shouldn’t be worried about registering for classes until actually getting there?.. or am I just being lazy

Well, it doesn’t hurt to look at classes on the bulletin but you should have plenty of time to think about it during NSOP.
