Full IB or AP/IB combination

I live in Europe and will go to college in the USA.I have to decide if I should take the full IB diploma next year or a combination of IB and AP classes. I have taken two years of Chinese but am not ready for Chinese SL so would have to take Abinitio French. Seems silly to me to drop Chinese just to do the diploma...but does the full IB always look better to the top USA colleges even if I could get to AP Chinese level?

If you could do AP Chinese, I'd be suprised if you couldn't do IB Chinese.
(btw, I'm doing a full IB diploma, plus 2 APs next year, and I'd say go IB, but thats my opinion)

I would do the full diploma, the addition of cas and the extended essay makes it extra appealing. I agree with the last post, don't say that you can't do IB Chinese SL if you think you can get to the AP level. My class is a combined ap/french sl class, and the courses are pretty parallel. There are also quite a few people who came in with only 2 years in french, and it isn't much of a problem. I'd assume chinese works the same way.
