I want to bring my comforter because I don't want to spend money on a new, smaller one, as well as a new duvet cover. And I like mine a lot. I know the beds in the dorms are XL Twin, but I think my larger comforter (Full/Queen) will be fine. Does anyone disagree?

I'm bringing my large comforter, too =). It's pretty, lol. Well... it saves me money. I've spent a lot on school already (textbooks, orientation, etc) >_>

If you raise your bed, as a lot of students do so they can fit more stuff underneath, a larger comforter will hide your mess. And, it will still work when you probably move into an apt in IV the following year. I'm happy to see some of you watching what you spend instead of taking college as a free pass to spend a ton and get all new things. It's particularly refreshing coming from a UCSB'er; there's a penchant down there for conspicuous consumerism.

Actually, the only difference between extra long twin and twin is the fitted sheet. So your twin sheets and comforters should work fine. As for a full, it'll be a little big, but you'll use your bed for studying/lounging as well as sleeping and I don't think it'll be a problem for you.
