I am looking for a decent engineering/science related school on the east coast that I could give a full ride from, or close to a full ride from.

Thanks in advance!

University of South Carolina

To get a full ride you will have to go to a school that is way below what you can otherwise get into. This is not a great ides for most. Only if your EFC is high and your parents refuse to pay should you even consider this. You're a fairly strong student and have a chance at good schools. If your family can pay the EFC aim higher.

If you are a minority, you might have a chance at Case Western Reserve University. Even if you aren't a minority, you have a good chance of getting some good merit aid from them. You should check them out.

my dad has 3 properties, 2 for rental... and this raises our EFC wayyy up... it adds around 10-15k a year based on the numbers we have fiddled with. it is super unfair because those 2 properties are his retirement, but the govt doesnt see it that way b/c he gets money every month for rent. (although rent-mortgage= approx 0). there is no way my dad can be expected to pay 33% of his salary to my college education... so im trying to find a full ride =)

You have a chance at a full ride from Rutgers.

agree with South Carolina...

engineering at SC?

List of majors on: http://www.sc.edu/admissions/majors.htm

I think Clemson University would suit you well also for an engineering degree

Yes, Clemson also has engineering but its harder to get full rides there.

hmm well i just got accepted to clemson and im out-of-state but the package they gave me gave me 2000$ plus they would consider me as an in-state resident so the tuition would be less (saving $8654 a year!)...so you should definitely look into clemson
oh yeah my SATs were 1440 and my extracurricular activities were in an abundance but my friend last year got a lot of money from clemson too!...hope this helps!

UA = free ride

pick a private school and hope they love you

well im getting a full ride to the naval academy for an engineering major but you wouldn't be interested in that.
university of maryland maybe?

Any in-state universities that you may be able to consider?

Olin - everyone who gets in gets automatic free tuition. It's a brand new engineering school near Boston.

http://www.olin.edu/admission/costs_fa.asp

That is pretty interesting!

try university of akron, kent state, cabrini college

a friend of mine with 1370 and 3.87 gpa applied to clemson, didnt get full ride but could pay in state tuition insted of out of state, i think Univ of Kentucky has a good eng program, but i wouldnt consider that school decent, with a mid 50 % of 1050 or so and 3.0 gpa you pry have a full ride and then some

COOPER UNION

Anyone that gets admitted gets a free ride.
