Full-Ride Financial Aid for International Student.

Suley, I’m going to stick my neck out here. If you present with a high SAT score and a low GPA, the school is going to view you as an underachiever. They are going to wonder WHY you didn’t perform to the “potential” that you evidenced on the SATs. To be honest, this could very much impact your prospects of acceptance. Schools are looking for ACHIEVERS…kids who work hard and have the grades to show it.

Your first hurdle will be to get accepted.

The SAT isn’t really the equivalent of a national college entrance exam, where the student’s fate is determined entirely by that score. The SAT score is only one of many factors in college admissions. You seem convinced that if you simply score high enough on the SAT, nothing else will matter and someone will pay for the privilege of having you enroll in their university. I’m sure there are countries where the top-scorers on the national college entrance exam get free tuition and even free housing and expenses. I just don’t think you are going to find a full tuition+expenses scholarship to a US university that is based on SAT scores alone.

Perhaps you could focus less of your study time on the standardized tests administered by the College Board organization, and more on doing well in your school classes and on the entrance exam to your own country’s higher education system?

inb4 OP doesnt get accepted to any universities applied, let alone go to the US

Suley, EducationUSA is an orgaization that deals with Higher Education, as stated above. AP is a high school program, managed by CollegeBoard. It is not directly related to higher education, so you contacted the wrong organization for help and information. Try contacting CollegeBoard.

I think the “SAT Scholarship” you are referring to is the National Merit Corporation. This is a PSAT scholarship which is based off the PSAT score taken in October of your Junior Year, which for you has unfortunately already passed. Sorry if that wasn’t what you were referring to, but that’s all I can think of.

I have faith that suleyman can get a 2000 SAT1, but that won’t guarantee you a full ride. You will probably get some aid with that score but not necessarily a full ride.

SULEYMAN, from which country u r?

I wonder if this “suleyman” is for real! If you are you had first lose your arrogance! So many people have tried to give you real and honest advice and you keep acting like a jerk. Hear them! Kids in this country with perfect 2400 SAT + perfect SAT II scores DO NOT GET IN TO SOME TOP SCHOOL let alone “full rides.” That’s reality!

I suspect that this entire thread is a ■■■■■.

Yeah. I realize it. Thanks to everyone!

Suleyman, where are you from??? I see you are shy or something… I can’t understand why do you ignore… maybe I could help ya…

unless they really really want you, there’s not much point giving the fin. aid to an international student when they can just give it to american student instead.

@epicgee
ok
@NewYorkUAD
too curious?

I just aksed twice and you ignore. to my mind comes that you dont want to tell you country, I’m confused…

See. Firstly, if you want to get full rides you need to get into those univs which offer Need Blind admission and offers to meet 100%demonstrated need. To my knowledge there are just 6 or something universities which do so. MIT, Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Amherst and Williams.

If you need a Full ride from other univs it will be really very tough even with 2400 SATs. Everyone is trying to tell you that.

Scores are just one part of getting a so called 'full ride". Your GPA, Essays, Extra Curricular also matter. And since you are international the competition will be huge. For example you will have a student who has scored like 2200 in SAT ( consider it to be 200 points less than you have) and has won the International Physics Olympiad 3 times and has published some research papers. On the other hand you have a perfect score and all but you don’t have those ECs then the TOP colleges will choose him instead of you.

YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE THE PEOPLE HERE! We can’t tell you anything if you cup is full. First make it empty.

Saying this. Getting into MIT and others is not impossible for you. Try hard and surely you will get but you must remember that scores are JUST one part of the application.

Hope it helps.

Thanks! I understand it. Can a hobby be considered as EC? For example, when I was in 4th grade I had a personal exhibition with 67 oil canvas paintings. Is that EC? Now I am working on my space and titanic research papers. I plan to send them to NY Times or wiki or even my city newspaper. Would it be EC?

I would add WPI, John Hopkins, and Maryland.

If you really wanted to help you wouldn’t make the city I live in the key part in your suggestions.

the country, not the city, I might really help, trust me) you have a chance…

Really? Hm…I live in the Azerbaijan.

well, in Kazakhstan USA Embassy offers Opportunity Grants, they cover living and traveling expenses (for all 4 years), plus prior to admission they also play for all your standartisied tests, toefl , SATs…
I think they look equally on all developing countries, in your country something like this also must be.
call them maybe, worse won’t be =) Azerweb.com[/url”>http://www.azerweb.com/en/job.php?id=8631]Azerweb.com
