I have heard some cases of students getting good amt of need based fin aid in universities other than in the US (like Canada & UK). Are there any univs in Canada and UK offering good need-based fin aid? How bout Waterloo & Ontario?

In Canada, they offer very less amount of scholarships(both in currency and availability) and forget about UK there is no uni(good ones) which offer ANY scholarship to int'l students....

In Waterloo they have a financial aid program but internationals or even most Canadians are not eligible (only Canadians from a certian province I think)! They have quite a few scholarships for internationals but they are small in value (say 10% of 1 year's costs) and certainly nowhere close to a full ride. In general, universities in UK, Canada and Australia have few scholarships or financial aid programs for internationals at undergrad level, so they aren't great for internationals needing aid.

You could look at Swedish universities, which are all fully subsidized (meaning the tuition fee is zero). Sounds great but you have to pay the living costs (which comes to somewhere around $9000) and for undergrad you would probably have to learn Swedish since there are only a very limited number of unis offering undergrad courses fully in English. At graduate level, on the other hand, there are plenty of universities teaching fully English courses.

i think IUBremen gives some full scholarships a year , dont know check with them.

IUB gives ONE full scholarship each other.. however well that is very very rare and well given only in case the student is EXCPTIONALLY rare ..

also there are sub full scholarships that are also rare but given to highly talented students ( a total number may be counted on fingers for the number of scholarships)..

Its selective but well is NEEDBLIND for international students as well for financial aid so in any case students get the money they want to study which is never taken into account for the admission..

A couple of european countries have no tution fees for any students - international or domestic.

snipanlol: plz name them,we would really need them.....(name good ones;))

haahaha well there lies the catch.. the universities snipanlol u r talking of arent even remotely international coz well 1st they dont teach in English .. 2nd they dont even have a gud percent of international students.. 3rd no tuition is mostly a misnomer in reality for them and otherwise livings costs are very high..

Needblind universities i talk about are ones who give you financial aid to survive the total college life based on need which cover also Hostel and room charges and are really good universities..

I can name the ones which are as of now .. but i dont think its even relevant ..
