Follow the money and the resources that he will have at TTU. Debt can be such an albatross. It will influence decisions he will make for a very long time to come. The freedom that comes from the ability to have basically no debt is an incredible advantage. Maybe more so than a top 15 Uni.
Like most kids his age, he has ideas about what he’d like to do. In addition to very strong math skills, he writes well and is interested in the humanities. He’s not one of these kids who is sure of what he’d like to do. I think he’s capable of ultimately teaching math at a high level, but life often has other plans. So the question is how much time and money to invest in a particular path, when that path may change?
I appreciate your thoughts and those of everyone who has taken time to respond. Thank you.
Has he looked in to what TTech honors offers in humanities?
