I got a 197 on the PSAT. I feel like this will not help me at all.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. You’re giving me hope (but not so much that I’m being ridiculous).

If you can get your ACT in the 30s, you’d have a good chance at a full ride at Temple. Depending on your other numbers and ECs, you’d probably get $10,000.

“Pitt in the past has given full-tuition (not full ride) scholarships to those with a 34 and above ACT (occasionally a 33) or a 1450 and above SAT (CR/M).”

Only if you also have a really high GPA as well. I know this based upon personal experience. 3.63 uw, 4.5 w GPA=0.

^^^ It is hard to figure out what Pitt will award in money to any particular person because the criteria aren’t spelled out anywhere. It seems to be on a case-by-case basis and is mysterious.

You should be good for RECHC, admissions-wise. I don’t know about a full-ride but you ought to get some merit aid, too.

SUNY- Stony Brook offered me a full ride with the Provost (sp?) scholarship, which is a scholarship for out-of-state residents (I live in California). I was quite surprised that did offer such a thing to non-residents… Good luck with your search to see if UCs offer the same!

I know I can get into RECHC, but a stipend to cut some costs would be nice. Supposedly if you attend SHP this summer, you automatically get a $5000 scholarship over four years to the Honors College, which I really like.

I got a full tuition scholarship at Pitt (state affiliated in PA) with a 2250 (roughly a 34 ACT). Most people on the Pitt board had similar scores to get the full tuition along with ECs and good grades. I got a full ride to Stony Brook (IS) for National Merit it seems.
