Full time student advantages

I only recently found out that for financial aid purposes, only 12 units are required for "full time". However, 13 units are considered full time in Berkeley. So my question is, what is the advantage of taking 13 units then? I always find that I have to fill that one extra unit with a useless decal.

L&S requires 13 units per semester: [Office of Undergraduate Advising: Class Schedules](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/registration/schedule.html)

CoE requires 12 units per semester: [Procedures and Regulations ? UC Berkeley College of Engineering](http://coe.berkeley.edu/students/guide/procedures-and-regulations.html#Procedure12)

Other divisions may have similar requirements. In addition, taking only 12-13 units per semester may not give you enough courses or units to fulfill all of your degree requirements in eight semesters (four semesters for junior transfers). Taking extra semesters may not be allowed, depending on your division.

Thanks for your reply. Yea I have enough units to graduate as it will be my last semester. I suppose I can try to request fewer units as a graduating senior. Thsnks again!
