Full time student working part time & FAFSA

I'm working to earn some money to help pay off my costs for college. I was wondering if I were to work part time and earn say $1,000 over the summer would I have to write that in on FAFSA? Or for tax return? I heard that if I were to make below a certain amount I wouldn't need to include it in. Does anyone know how much, the maximum, I could make without having my financial aid being disrupted? for a year?

Print out the formula, and run your numbers through it http://www.ifap.ed.gov/efcformulaguide/attachments/101310EFCFormulaGuide1112.pdf

For federal taxes, see [Internal Revenue Service](http://www.irs.gov) Don’t forget to find out about state and/or local income tax where you live.

I think you can earn up to about $5k without it impacting your EFC or aid.

However, if you have a bunch of it saved when it comes time to file next year’s fafsa, then the SAVINGS (not the earnings) will raise your EFC.
