<p>Thanks for the input. He’s going to go to it. It’s only a couple hours from home. It’ll be a good visit to the school. </p>
<p>The whole thing just struck me as odd. They mention the word competition and compete several times in the letter yet it strikes me as more lottery type odds. I swear we test these kids within an inch of their lives. S has taken PSAT since 7th grade, ACT twice, SAT twice, AP tests, applications and now a “weekend competition”. Of course the high cost of these schools has raised the stakes and the stress. </p>
<p>Our S was ok with it “what’s some more tests and an essay”.</p>
<p>I’m sure its a marketing tool to get those good kids onto campus to give them extra attention to choose acceptance.</p>
