Hi guys
Can anyone recommend some schools generous to intl students? or some that have merit-based full tuition scholarships? (I prefer LACs tbh, but any school would be okay!!!)
Here’s some stats: 9/10 GPA (i read somewhere that this equals a 4 on US scale)
8.0 Ielts
Ranked 2th of the class
English honors
National merit prizes in academic/eloquence contests
Fine ECs with a focus on environmental concerns and community development
EFC: 10k/year
I’ll take the SAT for the first time this October. My mock test scores range from 2100-2300 by the way.
Can you please help me? I have found some topics on this already, but I really need more options as well as hands-on experience! Anyone winning at least a full tuition here?
Please help me! It would mean so much!
Your EFC may be 10K per year but what is your family actually able to pay? That’s the relevant number…
what do you plan to study and what are your options in your own country?
There are some colleges mentioned in this article (in addition to the one in the title):

How do you know your EFC?
I suspect OP means $10k is what the family will pay.

If that’s the amount that your parents can pay, then you’d need MORE than a full tuition award. You’re an int’l, you’re going to have about $17k to pay if your tuition is covered.
Sorry if I sound like a jerk but what u are commenting isn’t really helping, what he/she is asking is there any full-tuition scholarships, while you are sound like prying on her family contribution. @yocomeon you can PM me, there’s a list I would tell u
People here ARE TRYING to help. They are pointing out the gap between what the OP’s family is willing/able to pay, and what the remaining expenses are after the tuition portion is covered.
Besides tuition, other expenses include:
Fees
Books
Housing
Meals
Medical Insurance
Incidentals
Travel
The total of these additional expenses is considerable.
And haven’t posters posted lists of schools that might be helpful to the OP before? A quick search of the site might be more prudent than asking the same question thats already been answered elsewhere. Like this, for example http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/international-students/1552794-looking-for-colleges-full-need-based-fin-aid-to-apply-to.html#latest Just saying.
Trying to help in a wrong way, I mean telling her that her contributions aren’t enough isn’t what she’s asking for, give her what she wants.
There is well-meaning concern here that the OP may not be asking the right questions. A lot of the posters replying here ARE experts. They’ve been offering seasoned Jedi advice for many years, have put their own kids thru college, and have post counts over 40,000. You, OTOH, with a post count of 31, are a naive Padowan.

No, you don’t sound like a jerk. You sound like a very naive young person.
The OP has indicated that his/her parents will pay $10k per year. The OP likely is guessing that that is enough to pay for the costs beyond tuition, hence the request for full-tuition schools. If that is his/her premise, the premise is faulty and that’s why the experienced parents (who have far more experience and knowledge about these things than YOU do), are explaining to the OP.
@yocomeon For you a school to grant an education visa, you will first have to demonstrate that you have the full COA covered (tuition, fees, room, board, books, personal expenses), plus health insurance and int’l travel costs.
If tuition (only) is covered by scholarship, you will still have to cover: Room, board, fees, books, personal expenses, health insurance, and int’l travel costs. Those expenses can be roughly $17k…plus or minus, depending on the school, your travel costs, etc. Health insurance alone will be about $2500. Int’l travel will be around $1000. Personal expenses will be about $2500. Your room and board can be anything from $10k-12k+ per year. Books can be another $1k. Fees can be another $1k-2k.
where will the other money come from? You have to show the money before the visa is granted. You won’t be able to earn that while you’re here.
If you get the needed SAT score and apply WELL BEFORE the scholarship deadline, Alabama would give you free tuition for your stats. If you major in Eng’g or CS, then Alabama would also give you $2500 per year. Since you’re in int’l, you would have to apply well before Dec 15th to allow time for your transcripts, etc, to arrive. I would suggest applying soon, even before you take the SAT and send transcripts, and then have test scores send right after testing.
@blossom yes that’s what my parents can pay at their best. And i think i’ll go for Business Administration
quanh,
Looks like you are new here and looking for the same information http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/wake-forest-university/1796765-financial-aid-for-international-student.html#latest I second what m2ck said. Take a deep breath, get to know the posters and cc culture a bit, and try to insult posters a little less. You will find lots of useful info here.
@thumper1 @austinmshauri sorry guys i made a mistake there i meant the amount my parents can pay is 10k/year !
@Quanh261997 @GMTplus7 please don’t fight! Thank you all I think everyone here is just trying to help me! Thanks and dont fight over this ^^
@mom2collegekids thank you mom! I was in fact too naive here i thought I could make up for the money by working part time in the school and cutting down my personal expense! I really didnt think that much…my bad! Thank you for pointing it out I’ll have to work things out. Btw Alabama? University of Alabama u mean? I’ve looked at it and it’s like 26k out of total 46k COA…still 20k more to go…in fact ive looked at some schools and substract the tuition fee from COA to find out the other expenses…some was like 11k or 12k so i thought maybe i could do with 10k…
@yocomeon colleges will compute what they think your parents can pay annually. It might be a lot more than $10,000 a year. It might be less. The amount of the family contribution is based primarily on parent income and assets.
It is very possible that colleges will expect your family to pay well in excess of $10,000 a year. But like I said…that would depend on income.
@happymomof1 I hope she sees this. She can give you advice where to seek information as an international student.
Not gonna fight with you guys here, sorry if I offense u
@Quanh261997 thank you ^^ i know you all mean well. btw check ur inbox!
