Full- vs part-time (units & tuition)

What's the difference between full-time, half-time, and part-time status?
Is full-time status 12 units and more? And half-time is at least 6 units? How about part-time?

Considering financial aid and tuition like those education fees (~$2000) each quarter, I know that if you're full-time, you're eligible for finaid and have to pay those fees...

But what if you decide to be part-time status (like taking only a 4-unit class) and work instead, do you still have to pay all those tuition fees or do you just pay per unit or do you get a fee reduction???

Just trying to clarify, thanks!

there is no part-time status. you must take 12 units every quarter. they want you to get the **** outta here after 4 years if possible.

look here:

Hmm…has anyone or know anyone who has done this?

Can I go to school part-time?

There is no official part-time status at UCLA. However, there is a Fee Reduction program, which you can petition for through your counseling unit. It must be done for three regular quarters and you must be enrolled in ten or fewer units each quarter. This can be requested on the basis of family responsibility, employment commitments, and/or health reasons. See College Academic Counseling (A-316 Murphy), AAP, Honors, or Athletics for these requests. Be advised that this may affect your Financial Aid status. See the Financial Aid Office for more information.
