Heres the information on the website
Submit a score or grade that meets the writing requirement.

Meet the writing requirement by submitting to the Admissions Office a minimum score/ grade of:

30 or better on ACT Combined English/ Writing Exam

680 on the SAT II Writing Exam

3 on an AP test in English

5 on the International Baccalaureate Higher Level English A exam

6 on the International Baccalaureate Standard Level English A exam

C in a UC transferable (four- quarter or three-semester unit) English composition class

I have a question on the ACT
It says one must get a 30 or better in the combined English/Writing Exam.
What does this mean? I got a 21 for English and a 20 for the Writing combined makes 41 does this make me qualified. Can anyone validify this.

no, the 41 is not your composite english/writing score. on your act score report it will give you a number for your composite english/writing and i think that has to be 30 or higher to fulfill the requirement. or you can just take the placement exam.

I dont think an AP class counts. It says that it must be UC transferable and I believe AP classes arent UC transferable. Pass the AP exam with a 3 and that should be good.

What about the math and other tests? I think someone said you can find out if you need to take the exams from your admit page? Where does it tell you? And if you do need to take them, then when do you need to take them by? Thanks!

for the american institutions req, do the UCs just mean that if u took a US history course in HS, then you've fulfilled the req? like it doesn't have to be APUSH right?
