Um, because I asked questions once every two minutes and had a ranking of courses all picked out...and I was adamant about getting into certain courses even though my adviser was all like "you're going to die"...

I took Dinosaurs with Professor Shanan Peters (visiting from UChicago I think) and it was excellent.

Thanks dilksy!

David Eugene Spencer is a visiting professor from BYU. You can Google him to see his CV. I ask him a question by email and he wrote a friendly, helpful, and thorough response. Other than that, only his former BYU students would know about him as a professor.

At least you dont have leads for econ 102, that was a waste of tuition money.

I had heard that like every student complained about him. Any idea why?

and I think I know a few people at BYU I can ask about him...

Whatever happened to Polish Literature in English? In the 1970s it was the ultimate "pipe" class. The professor encourage you to take it summer correspondence. A lot of pre-meds would take it to fill out their humanities requirement.

I remember the Gargoyle did an article about the class and the U cracked down on the Professor.

That would be awesome...

One of the admissions bloggers mentioned a class where the professor gave everyone automatic A's. No idea if the class was FUN, but I can see how, in a term with a bunch of hard courses, this would be an appealing addition to one's schedule.

Super popular lecture class back in the day...Social Behavior of Primates. Course loaded with jocks, easy A, but also very interesting since the animated prof loved to teach and was a total crack-up.

I took the Dinosaurs and Other Failures class with Peters as well... I ended up with a B which I was slightly disappointed in, as I actually attended lectures. The entire class is based on the final and the lecture notes are posted online... so basically no one goes to class.

I took two more GEOSCI minicourses last semester ("Climate and Mankind" and "Volcanoes and Earthquakes") and they were both VERY easy... Climate and Mankind especially.

But the easiest class at the university is either American Popular Culture with Bruce Conforth or Contemporary Political Issues with Greg Marcus. Am Pop Culture lectures are very interesting, and Conforth tells you exactly what will be on the final. Discussion was a joke and we watched episodes of Friends every class. Contemporary Political Issues is a 300 level course, but don't let that scare you. Your entire grade is based on seven 4-5 page papers.... and they're no brainers. I wrote them all the night before and got an A or A- on all of them.

Hehehehehe...I got a B- in "Volcanoes and Earthquakes"...I swear, my GPA would be so much higher if they took out those 100-level NS classes.

I wanted to take Polsci 300 really badly, but they're all filled up...I know you don't have to attend the lectures, but what are the lectures about...exactly? Just a random political issue?

Fun class: Classical Civilization 381: Witchcraft... Take it with Professor Collins

History 250: China from the Oracle Bones to the Opium War with Prof. Chang. His grading system is ridiculously lenient.

LHSP 140 photography with abrams

Easy (A+ guaranteed), 3 credits free, awesome cameras to play with, photoshop , go out on field trips

Not sure if I got the right number, but I think I did.

Physics 106 - "Will it burn?"

Why didn't I take that instead of 140? sigh

Because you're required to take physics 140 for math major.

Anyways, will it blend, that is the question. http://www.willitblend.com/
