Fun Classes!

@sprintuser, psy 301 is pretty easy anyways.

anyone have notes for arc 308 with Speck???

I really wanted to take psy 301, but most classes are reserved for psychology majors. The ones that aren’t reserved are already closed.

NXT, i’m taking that class next semester or the semester afterwards… please send them to me!!

I have AP credit for psy, but is human sexuality count for the arts component

woah, i just checked, that’s weird… i heard that after non-payment drops happen, they open up most restricted classes.

there you go. uploaded the pdf file for human sexuality notes. just download it from there>>

I might also retake Human Sex. since I had to drop it last year but its hard to find room in one of the three sessions that he offers. All three time sessions are the same but he gets ****ed if you sign up for one and go to the other one and really embarrasses you. Since I might/not get into that class, any u’ll taking/taken any random but easy elective @ UT. I know some of the easy ones like children lit. & but all the good profs. are taken…

@Nxt, take it in the summer with me!

lol i am takin 4 classes during the summer so I only have to take 12 hrs/semester for the next two yrs. But I am still looking for a random elective to take during fall & spring of next year at UT. lemme know if you come up with any.

For Fall '010, I’m looking at PED 104P (beginner’s tennis), ADV 305 or 315 (advertising), and MUS 201J (beginner’s piano). I assume the piano class should count for my fine arts credit, since it’s a two semester, four total credit class.

Later on, I’m interested in taking POL 507 (even though I’m not sure Polish still exists there), PED 105M (fencing), RS 354D (History and the Bible), CC 304C (another Bible class), and J 310 (journalism).

I’ve just always been interested in Journalism and Advertising, so I figured why not take a class.

darthbarry17: All of those classes sound awesome! I’ve always wanted to take a bible class that is linked to either lit or history. What exactly is your major?

I agree. I’m going into biology. But when I looked at a degree plan I added all the required hours and they were well below the one twenty needed, so I started looking at electives. I didn’t think there would be enough room for a lot of extra classes.

@darthbarry17

Just a heads up, PED classes don’t count towards some majors’ electives so be sure your major accepts them. I know my advertising major doesn’t.

Ahh. Thanks solo. But it seemed like I would have plenty of room for those classes.

darthberry, why odn’t you do a BS in biology instead?

I was definitely interested in that. Human Biology to be specific. I just pretty much had no one to talk to about it. Admission advisor said I’ll talk to my academic advisor about all that, but that’s not for a while. The idea of it sounded great, and the classes all more interesting, but it says everywhere that it is a lot stricter for your schedule and their wouldn’t be as much room to try different things.

You have to be careful of “blow off classes!”

My mom back in the 80s took “Cowboy Folklore” as a fun class during her final semester. She worked harder in that class than in any other class that semester.

Just be careful and make sure you actually like the blow off class you’re taking or you could be facing a nightmare!

History of rock and roll used to be easy, but because so many people thought it was a blowoff class, it is now hard, BUT, jazz appreciation is easy, my son got a 99 with very little effort. Plus, he really enjoyed the class and learned a ton. He goes to see the professor perform at various venues around Austin.

So I guess to bring it back up, what’s the real difference in BA and BS. It just seems BS is more specialized to a certain study. Is it real strict on your schedule?

not strict on your schedule but with more classes to take and how UT schedules the classes, you may have to take some of the BS core classes at summer or some other school.
