Fun Game: Pick your Ivy

Let's say that for our purposes, you were accepted into all 8 Ivy Leagues (Harvard, Yale Princeton, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown and UPenn), but could only choose to go to one. Which one would it be and why?

And feel free to respond however you want, just give an honest opinion.

Harvard: greatest resources, considered the best school in the world (Yeah, I know there are a bunch of rankings that have it #2, #4, etc. I'm talking about societal perception.), and Boston.

UPenn because its the only one with a program that i really love

princeton - its close. campus is also bigger than columbias

cornell. best programs overall. hands down.

i would have to say that harvard is overrated. the classes there are only taught by TAs and the people at harvard have a lot of connections, so if your daddy isnt "somebody" you are pretty much outcasted

Are laurstar's statements true? Can anyone attest to the accuracy of what she has just said? If it is, I don't think I would ever fit in there.

Cornell... well because Cornell is Cornell :)

Definitely Princeton too.

Tough choice between UPenn Wharton and Harvard...

laurastar's statements are definitely true. the TA thing happens everywhere though, and so does the other thing, really.

Cornell is my absolute favorite. If I were not to go to Cornell, I would have liked to go to Yale.

Harvard, just because their financial aid program is a billion times better than Cornell (otherwise most def Cornell). My last choice would probably be Yale (but I'm from CT, that's probably why)

Cornell because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Also, I don't want to KILL myself with work in college. Obviously, Cornell will be hard, but not as hard as the other ivies.

roller coaster. i think you are wrong about the work-load at cornell. don't kid yourself. people go to cornell knowing they are going to work their butt off. not once have i ever heard..........i'd like cornell so i can coast a bit. quite the opposite!

Harvard, so I can cross-register at MIT.

yea rollercoaster, cornell is probably the hardest ivy workload and academic wise. with prestige does not come difficulty. have you ever heard of Harvard's "gentleman's B+" ?

Cornell because it's bigger, it's scenic, it's closest to home, has CALS.

i haven't head of a "gentleman's b+" and i certainly don't think cornell will be easy to any degree. i just think i would have a harder time at a place like harvard, yale, princeton, or dartmouth than i will have at cornell. i've talked to people that came out of my school with my type of academic degree, and they agree. it might also have to do with my social perception of cornell vs. the other ivies and that having a good social community will help me get through an ivy league school of the same academic caliber.

Yale. Residential college system, stunning architecture, new financial aid initiative

Classes only taught by TAs? That is definitely not true.
While TAs may instruct some courses, the majority are still taught by professors.

Outcasting may occur to some extent, but I'd say the majority of the class are there on their own merit--not because of legacy/other connections. My friends that go to Harvard seem very happy, and they don't have influential parents (that's not supposed to sound like an insult, haha).

I have no desire to go there though...lol.

Brown - open curriculum!
