Fun Graphing Calc Equations

do any of you know sites where you can find equations for graphs that making funny designs? (i.e: fish, animal, car...?)

here is one i found (VERY INAPPROPRIATE!!!!)

set your calculator to polar mode (mode->POL) and 2nd Function Zoom to Polar GC

then type cos(theta) + cos(2theta)...then trace the graph

i'm assuming this is with a TI-82/83/80something?

What are the window settings?

yes it is with the ti84 plus

the window settings are:
0min=0
0max=360
0step=7.5
Xmin=-2.5
Xmax=2.5
XScl=1
ymin=-2.5
ymax=2.5
yscl=1

tell me if you get it to work. remember, you have to switch to polar mode at two different places.

Thanks! It works! :D and...it could be the Hindenberg! Instead of something very inappropriate.

"Oh, the inhumanity!"

That was amusing but it shouldn't be so disproportional.

Only on CC...

interesting (yet sick) find, though. I'll just assume that WAS the Hindenburg...

when i said inappropriate i was talking about for college confidential. half the kids on this site have never had a sip of alcohol in their life. most would freak out if they tried this on their calc, and tell an moderator/administrator to ban me from CC. how about this one:
costheta + cos6theta. in polar mode as well
ps what is Hindenburg??

you'd be surprised how many "sip" alcohol

really? i thought these people are perfect (i.e. never cussed in their life, etc...)

oh, no. you will learn, young one.

whoa. relax bro. calling me 'young one' you have to be kidding me

I was kidding, I meant it in a "you have much to learn, grasshopper" sort of thing. Sorry if it seemed to be a negative thing.

sorry about that :)

Heeee. It is true, so many have "sipped" alcohol. There are so many people who have good/nice/perfect personas at the school but on the weekends their wild personas come out. :D

i graph equations on my calculator to make cool stuff too lol. but now, after i discovered the DRAW button, i draw (mostly harry potter fan art lol) on my ti-83. its SO awesome!!! soon i will post a link on this thread to show u one of my pics

how do you do that?
ps. my grapher just stopped working after my sat. so i dont have one anymore:(

There's a "DRAW" button? Where?

The_Who: Well, at least it broke down after you completed your SAT!

i have a calc test tommorow

Well then...that's..harsh. (We had a calculus test today, too) But calculus doesn't really require the calculator except for the graphing... :| Okay, got your point. Snitch a TI-83 from someone. ;)

on the ti83, [2nd] then prgm, then scroll to bottom and click on PEN, and on your graph you can doodle (go to Format, AxesOff for better appearance)
