Fun Places to Go While Visiting Duke?

My family and I will probably be visiting Duke on april 8 and 9th (I was originally scheduled to visit 5-6, but changed my mind.) Are there any fun places to go near Durham after visiting Duke? If it matters, I have a little brother age 10.

What do you like to do? See the gardens on campus for sure. Go downtown to Brightleaf Square and have lunch at Parker & Otis. Or go get some good barbecue at Bullock’s. Like I say, it depends what counts as fun for your family. Nasher Museum of Art (on campus)? Durham Museum of Life and Science? Durham Bulls Stadium? Eno River State Park? Chapel Hill?

Are there any attractions such as a Disneyland or something like that perhaps unique in North Carolina? (We have a Disneyland in southern California, but just just to give you more of an idea.)

Not much to do in Durham, to be honest. Just your typical suburban-type area. Nothing like California where you come from. There are several good places to eat, and a good shopping mall. And some beautiful foliage. :)

I had lunch at the Mellow Mushroom-which was REALLY good, definitely go there. Brightleaf is also nice. I also did a Segway tour of Durham which was pretty cool. In addition, although kind of random my family and I went to Frank’s Fun Place or something like that which had go-karts, an arcade, batting cages etc because we didn’t know what else to do

Agree with Bullock’s. Go hungry.
