there are some tournaments in the dorms every now and then. people basically just go the bars on anyday of the week. bigger parties on the weekend. word of advice if you plan on partying a little and have never had a beer in your life, somehow find a way to get one before you get down here and try it so that when you try it down here you don't start spitting it out in front of everyone and look like a *****. some people take trips to other schools or go home once a month. yes people go to the nearby theatere(s) and basically downtown champaign is the only BIG area that looks remotely like a city, and when i mean city i mean at least it has a mall, its about two miles away (or 3? i have no sense of measurement) i've been to downtown urbana once and it looked boring as hell. oh and lots of people play frisbee on the quad when its really nice out or just sunbathe. oh yea and hte gym, basketball

With the Illinois weather, in March, 1 day it was like 80 degrees and then 2 days later it was literally 40 degrees out.

It fluctuates a lot, especially if you live in Chicago, you'd be well aware of that.

Regardless, from Aug.20(when school starts or somewhere around that date) to about mid-late Sept. it's real hot or pretty warm.

Cools down from late Sept. to about mid Nov. and u get cooler temps and sometimes as low as 35-40 degrees.

Then by Thanksgiving time, it gets pretty cold out and it's basically cold most of winter, sometimes temps. climb to like 50 degrees with the crazy weather.

Then by mid. Feb, it starts to get warmer, but this year it was unusually cold in parts of March and even a little into April.

Not much rain until March I would say.

But again, it all changes, a lot of crazy weather here.

What bearsfolife said is very true. If you are not from Illinois the weather may seem slightly weird (or other parts of the midwest).

You really can have a day where it is 90 on and have frost warnings the following night. You can have 80 degree weather in december and snow in may. Summers can get well in to the hundreds, winters can easily reach sub zero. Tornado warnings generally do not phase you. (Im from chicago so this one maybe less to champaign) - you know the significance and important effects of "The Lake."
