Funding Columbia....?

How much is the Tuition price for Columbia? How can one fund that overhelming price...? It's hard enough getting accepted but paying for it too -__-''

My mom makes $70,000-80,000 p/ year and she said it won't be able to ford to pay for all four years!

many students are on financial aid, which is a system that makes college education possible for middle and lower class families. financial aid is a combination of grants (money the student does not have to pay back, ever), work-study (nontaxed employment by the federal government), and a small amount of subsidized (no-interest) loans.

tuition for coumbia is around $45,000 a year, which is a typical ballpark price for private schools in the united states.

though you certainly aren't asked to provide your household financial status on CC, you may be able to get financial aid. if you are not eligible, there are other financing options like unsubsidized loans.

how old are you?

Columbia definitely makes things affordable. After I got my admissions letter a few weeks ago, I was really worried about the cost. However, Columbia gave me about 33,000 dollars in grant money, 1000 in a perkins loan, and 2500 in work study. My perkins/work study was covered by a scholarship, so really my family is only paying about 11,700 for the first year -- which is much more manageable than 45,000!

Cannednish, what was your Family's income status? I doubt Columbia will grant me 33,000!!

AS for Blah1111, I'm 16. A Sophomore in HS. I'm preparing as early as I can for CU!
