Soooo... College is coming to an end in a few months. Time to device a plan for the future! Actually, I already have a plan in mind (or at least an ideal scenario): graduate school. More specifically, I want to pursue a PhD in social (socio-cultural) anthropology. My dilemma is that I want to escape the Northeast (have to get out of New England) and ideally head west. There are many great anthro programs at the UCs and they would be high on my list if I could only figure out the financial situation.

It is my understanding that the UCs by virtue of being public are restricted as to how generously they can support international graduate students. My question to you all is simple: is this the case? Furthermore, will it be harder for me to get money as a social science student as opposed to, say, a math student? Anyone with knowledge and experience, please help!

Thanks.
