Fundraisers: can't do it.

So like, I'm a guy who always wants to complete stuff that I start. I wanted to start a new fundraiser to raise cash for the school (it built a new building, which is straining the school budget from what I hear). But the people who are supposed to be doing that like the Student Council aren't doing any .
Any ways that I could at least bring my ideas to their attention and hopefully start it?

why do you need to bring your idea to the student council?
if you're determined, do it yourself. get a group of friends and have regular meetings for the fund raiser. if you have no friends, then ... i don't know how to help.

good luck! even if it fails, it's excellent experience.

problem is, everyone is unmotivated, just like my friends. So now what?

I do not believe that everyone is unmotivated. That's impossible.

I think that you're trying to rely on others to get your idea going. It's your idea: You need to be prepared to do most of the work to make your idea a reality. That's what virtually always happens when people have ideas. Other people jump on the bandwagon only after the idea person has done lots of work and the others see the idea is coming to fruition. Then everyone wants to be part of the project.

That's life, and if you are excited about your idea, what I just told you shouldn't discourage you from proceeding with it.

Be passionate and energetic about it. We know you believe in it, but SHOW OTHERS how much you want to do this. That has been shown to be quite contagious when done well =)

alright, I already found and convinced some three others to join. Thanks to the posters above.

See what your high school's policy for starting clubs is. If you can, find a teacher who will agree to be your supervisor and start a Fundraising club. You can begin by raising money for the school and progress to all kinds of volunteer and donating work. I'm sure tons of kids would join for the chance to get involved in community service. I know at my school it was hard to find opportunities unless you were involved in a church. This is assuming that you want this to be a continuing project. Either way, good luck with the fundraising.

find out when council's meetings are. then propose something, or talk to the designated fundraisers and talk to them privately.
