I want to go to a summer program in business, and the thing is, most are around 4-5 thousand for a few weeks. Um, my parents make enough so that I wouldn't qualify for financial aid, but I don't want to make them spend so much money on me.

Do you guys know of any good fundraising ideas? Like individual ones, of course...

How about you get a job? People will not like to contribute to your "fundraiser" if they find out that it is only for you. Getting a job ensures you money and you won't feel awkward trying to sell stuff to your friends or random people. Either get the job now and work a little bit on weekends or get it in the summer and make a deal with your parents to pay them back. I don't see why you would automatically think "fundraiser" when you need to get $ for yourself...

i agree with above posters, starting a fundraiser for yourself sounds a bit self-centered....
i ould say getting a job or private tutoring other kids?

private tutoring pays quite a bit more than a counter worker at mcdonalds.

You could apply to a summer program that offers merit scholarships...
OR
if the summer programs in business are all just too expensive ... why don't you try to find an internship over the summer? I think the princeton review and collegeboard websites have internship searches (if you'd like to work with a well known company). You could also try interning at a local business or a bank. There are PLENTY of inexpensive/free opportunities out there ... you just have to look for them!
