Anyone know of some really good fundraising ideas outside of the norm (i.e carwash, bakesale, etc.)? If so please let me know

We have a school fair every year with "the norm", but the breakout event this year was what our principal calls "Russian Omelet". Basically we have loads of eggs; five hard boiled and one raw are put in a box. You basically have to choose an egg and smash it against your forehead. Whoever gets the raw one loses (and gets goo all over themselves)! We get kids, parents, teachers, WHOEVER to challenge each other but before they can do so, we pass a hat around for donations. Sometimes we even set a bar, so let's say Ben can only challenge the college counselor after we raise X amount of cash. It was slow to begin with but everyone got into it at the end and now we're all looking forward to it at the next school fair ;)

bump, I'm also interested in some fundraising ideas.

well in my past experience, carwashes don't bring in much cash...
but band at our school raises an enormous amount of money by working the snack stand at football games.
Actually, working at a snack stand at any sporting events or large, well-attended events brings in a decent amount of money.

And ASB at our school make deals with local restaurants for a "fundraising night". Basically, between an alloted time (say... 5pm to 10 pm), students from the school will go to the restaurant and show them a flyer, and half of the money they spend on food will be donated to the school. This usually happens every 3 months or so and is a huge help. Then again, I live in a small town, so students don't really have the option of eating anywhere else besides the sponsoring restaurant lol

There was a thread in the parent cafe about this

Thanks for the ideas and links guys!
