That’s quite an awesome name(Catholepistemiad), why on earth did we not stick with it?

^Too many syllables. Any more than four and it’s time for a new word.

Catholepistemiad stands of academy of universal knowledge. That’s vastly more elitea and in-line with a real institute of higher learning than being known to be the college of farming “WE ARE FARMERS… BUM BUM BUM BUM BUM BUM BUM!”

“let me assure readers that the opinions of bearcats are not standard at Catholepistemiad.”
Right, because standard opinions are so valuable. I guess it is if you strive to be average. In the words of one of the smartest men on earth (seriously, read the principle), "3) The consensus is often wrong, so I have to be an independent thinker. To make any money, you have to be right when they’re wrong. "

That literally made me LOL

So bearcats, still unhappy, eh? Hugs and rainbows aren’t doing it? What about puppies? Everybody loves puppies!

(Please don’t bother responding to me, I can’t actually see your posts)

^Lol. That’s called Lois Lernering. Make a statement but nonono the statement is not subject to cross examination.

So much butthurt in this thread.

i would love to meet Bearcats in person

Bah. It’s disingenuous to keep “dissing” MSU…Michigan State is bursting at the seams and there average GPA and test score rise every single year that Michigan increases the out of state percentage which is good for the state and good for the kids who get a world class education no matter which uni they attend.

The question is “Did you buy the car?” A good car salesman can make $20,000 a month if they sell a car a day and it’s a pretty legit job for a young person who likes sales… so yeah, I’m sure the guy dissed his alma mater because you were simply a notch in his monthly belt so…did you buy the car?

I did. Got about 4k knocked off MSRP before manufacturer incentives which is quite good on a 60k range mb. Slimy dbag tries to sell me “extended comprehensive warranty for 7k”, bet he would have made a couple grand if I fell for that crap.

Whoops sorry for the spell check error.

Funny, bearcats. You and the sales guy sound like twins. The “slimy dbag” sounds like he subscribes to your very principles. I would think you would have recognized a kindred spirit.

I think I’d dis my alma mater for $20 a minute or whatever that commission worked out to be… on a Saturday :-)

There is actually a huge difference. I have absolutely no problem with people withholding information or present facts in a way to have the audience arrive at a wrong conclusion themselves, but I don’t advocate outright lying. Purposefully present erroneous information in a monetary transaction is fraud. When the dealer verbally claims that he’s not taking a middleman fee/kickback in the warranty transaction, he’s committing fraud. There is a reason when I told him to put that in writing and he instantly said well meh I guess it doesn’t make that much sense for you financially to get it anyway.

The only people you should lie to are Adcoms because that’s not illegal.

Bearcats doing work!

Internet rule #134524

Don’t feed the trolls (i.e. Bearcats)
