Ok, before I had even began my application to Stanford, I was reading here on CC some of the students who had gotten in during previous years. The GPA, scores, all high (obviously), but nothing that was too foreign to me. What really blew me away was the EC list. OMG, the first time I read some of the EC's of the people who got accepted I nearly crapped my pants. One of the accepted students was an olympian, another could speak five languages, and one was even a published author!

How could I get into this school? I am just an electric guitarist who loves to play chess, discuss politics, and write. Well, as it turns out, somehow I did get in (SCEA). But here is where the true comedy starts. Out of nowhere, I began writing this novel because I was so intrigued about this idea of population growth. So, now, I am about 1/3 of the way finished with this novel, and I am probably going to get it published sometime in 2009, if that is possible. So, miraculously, I have become the type of student, which I used to envy for their EC's, without even realizing it. Its just crazy how things like this have just happened within the last few months. I think getting into Stanford has made me more focused in life. If this university is willing to grant me such an opportunity, I will not let them down.
