Eric Furda weighs in on what to wear to your Penn interview:

Let’s stick with the suits

I wonder whether the goth guy got in.

What in the world? Didn’t the photographers at least try to make them look presentable before snapping the pictures!!! They look tore up and raggedy–definitely not clothes one should wear to an interview! And what is up with the guy’s pants?? Was he staring at something that “excited” him? I blame the photographers!

$15k for what?

Oh well, as long as we’re discussing clothing worn to interviews: I wore light beige khakis, a white shirt with blue and black stripes and a black/blue/white sweater over the shirt (this was winter so appropriate). Black shoes to finish off the outfit. This was nothing special though: this is stuff I wear to school on a regular basis (not private school fyi).

I agree–who needs a consultant. I wore plaid pants and a striped shirt and I was warmly received and accepted. Just be yourself! I like to clash and that’s the personality they want in investment banking. Go Wharton!

The NYT article was hilarious. Good reader comments, too.

And $15K for Duff’s advice? P.T. Barnum was right.

Duff shoulda kept her day job at Yale.
