D was accepted into Furman for this fall. We sent in her deposit so I guess that now makes her an official member of the Class of 2014. She is beyond excited. Furman was her dream school since her first visit. According to her, Furman fits "like a glove", both academically and socially. D did her due diligence on this decision so we know she made the right decision for her.

We are excited for her because we have never seen her so happy. (plus we love the idea of visiting Greenville, a nice perk for us). I appreciate the many members of this forum that have offered their advice and feedback.

Please continue your valuable posts to let us know how it progresses. D is very interested and has a visit scheduled in April (the most beautiful time of spring in the south). Her beloved grandfather died on New Year’s Day and Furman would put her within a 1/2 hour of her grandmother and an hour of her favorite uncle. Besides being a great school what more could you want?

So glad to hear of your interest in Furman. I’ve posted a bunch of thoughts on Elon v Furman, but they’re on the Elon forum, not this one. Take a look - people have asked some great questions, and I am happy to continue to stumble along and answer what I can.

Congrats to your daughter, BobbyCT! My daughter is a freshman this year and absolutely loves Furman. It’s great that your daughter is so excited about her acceptance.

I’m happy to help with any questions she or you might have.
