Furman Class of 2022

Yes, he got a small Furman flag with it.

My daughter has not received an acceptance packet.
(CA)

We’re also in California and still waiting …

My son got the packet and flag.

My daughter’s arrived yesterday!

Son was awarded $23,000 per year Bell Tower back in Nov (EA). 35 ACT, 1500 SAT, 10 APs (all 4-5) NMSF; he is dual enrolled at CCU, so 9 classes completed prior to app (27 -28 credits) with 4 more classes senior year. Can’t remember GPA- around 4.6 weighted?
We toured, he was Furman Scholar
Hope that helps! Good luck to everyone!

D accepted EA back in Dec. awarded Bell Tower $25K/year! Nat’l Merit Commended Student; Ranked 11/351 public HS; 4.46 wGPA/3.91 unwGPA; 33 ACT/34 Superscore; IB student (straight As in all IB class-no Bs since Sophomore yr) taking Chemistry HL (also her intended major); two 4 scores on AP English and History; strong EC participation-not tons of clubs but President of two she is very involved in and Team Captain: service club, 6 yr varsity swim team, environmental club; works part time as swim instructor; several mission trips; we toured campus with family friends who are in school there but never able to make an ‘official’ visit. There was a side note at bottom of her acceptance letter regarding being involved in the Furman service club when she come to campus. Furman is in her top 3 (maybe top 1); but other schools are RD so we wait … good luck to all!

Furman provided a similar personal note on my D’s acceptance letter. Furman has the best admission’s program and their staff deserve great credit. It is so much better than my alma mater.

I know reg decision notification date is 3/1 just curious if anyone has heard sooner? And how is everyone notified via email, portal or snail mail?

My D heard but she applied EA. I don’t think anything has come out for RD yet. She received an email and checked the portal.

anyone hear anything about merit scholarship invites? Supposed to hear by EOM.

Have not heard anything here. Fingers crossed that my D is on the invite list.

any idea of how notifications are made? hopeful they let students know either way!

Heard decisions come out at 5pm today

Waitlisted. International students needing a lot of aid…

D was accepted but w/only legacy scholarship. She is top 5% of her class of 900, 5.2 w/3.97 uw GPA, 1380 SAT, 15 APs, AICE Diploma, AP Scholar, AP Capstone Diploma, leadership, honor societies, band, sports, etc. Visited twice. Can’t figure this out, but know we can’t afford this tuition without lots of help!

What other aid is offered if you receive a Bell Tower Scholarship? Any? Even with Bell Tower price tag is so high.

Need-based aid letters should be mailed by April 1, I believe. Departmental scholarship notifications for RD came in the snail mail as an additional part of the acceptance packet. This was a welcome surprise for us. Keeping our fingers crossed for the additional aid. My husband is an alum and we’d love for our daughter to attend here but the cost is pretty daunting. It was not anywhere close to this expensive when he attended–then again, neither was my large state university tuition.

Is there any advantage of applying for ED over EA or RD? Do you stand a better chance of getting
accepted?
