I was thinking about attending Furman’s diversity experience because of my personal interest in diversity in school, but I do not add to the school’s diversity in any way. I am a white, midwestern girl, so I was wondering if it would be inappropriate/not acceptable for me to attend. Do you have to be of a multicultural background to attend the diversity experience or do you just have to have a genuine interest in diversity and inclusion?
Although many people who take part in the diversity experience are from less common backgrounds at Furman, you should by no means let that stop you if you are interested in it. Your passion and interest are what is more important to the organization.
