future admission into stony brook.

hey, I'm currently thinking about applying to Stony Brook as Class of 2016. can anyone tell me my chances of acceptance from my projected GPA/SAT scores:

Math: 620
Critical Reading: 540
Writing: 590

GPA: 92.91 Rank: 10/117
-Member of Math Leaders Program
-Member of Nat. Honors. Soc.
-Member of a number of Different Clubs/Activites (With Open Arms, Auth. Sci Research, Band, Jazz Band, etc.. list goes on.)
-Participated in Four Science Competitions(Winner of NYSERDA's Shining Example Essay Contest.)

Future Major: Computer Engineering

-Also taking/finished AP Calculus, AP US History, AP English Lang. as a Junior.

You’re going to need to bring up those SAT scores. Your 2 part (math/reading) should be up at about a 1220-1280 to really be competitive.

hmmmm, okay, thank you so much for for the insight.

I had 630 math, 540 reading, and 610 writing and I got accepted

oh really? what was the major you applied for?

Only thing that’s holding you back is your SAT score. Generally, your score is good enough for admission into Stony Brook, but I’m assuming applying as an Engineering major is more difficult.

thanks to you all, I’ll definitely take into consideration increasing my SAT scores (M & CR) when I take the test in June, thanks again.

my major is undeclared lol

^ lol exactly. Stony is more selective with their engineering. The average Math and Critical Reading scores combined for entering engineering students was 1330. So you’re going to have to bring that up.

Besides that, you look good. Very close to what my stats were minus the SAT score and I applied for Computer Engineering and was accepted with $3500 in scholarships.
