Hey guys. So I got admitted to City's Grove School of Engineering and will be attending this school in the Fall, but I need some help.

When you get accepted, they give you a "MY CCNY" site where you have to complete 3 steps to officially enroll.

I've completed all three steps : send in immunization form, pay deposit, and activate a CCNY email account, and all the links for each task has disappeared except for the activate your email account. If you are a CCNY student, you will know what I am talking about.

Now, I had to call the school to activate an email for me because their "search up your email address" does not work. I got an email quite some time ago. I emailed a few times to "the college counselor" and the school's help desk and called a few times, but they do not answer emails and the people I talked to do not know how to help... they kept abruptly transferring to the next clueless person. Also, I still cannot search up my email. The page says I need to complete all three tasks to be invited to orientation.

I guess what I'm asking is, should I be worried or is this just the faulty system of the school that everyone is experiencing? I did complete what they asked of me even though the last link won't disappear. Did you guys go through the same trouble? And, when is the earliest orientation session?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Hey, sorry I don’t have an answer for you but may I ask what your grades were like?

I am in the exact same predicament, looking to transfer in post 2 years at a 4 year out of state…

It’s alright. My grades were pretty good, around a 97 cumulative average. My SAT for math and reading was a little above 1200.

Dear “insaneplace,”

First, let me congratulate you on your admission to the City College of New York. It is my pleasure to welcome you to our community. I’m sorry to hear that you have experienced trouble during the post-admission process. Please allow me to provide some clarification.

The “Activate your CCNY E-mail Account” link will not disappear from the “What’s Next” section of your MYCCNY page, even after it is activated; only the other items (e.g. immunization, deposit) are removed after completion. If you are unable to access your e-mail account then you can contact me directly (see contact information below), and I will assist you in resolving that problem.

Regarding orientation and registration, the dates will not become available until May 1st. Once the dates have been made available, all students that have cleared immunization, and satisfied the commitment deposit requirement, will be sent an e-mail notification that they can sign up for orientation. You will see those dates listed under the “Orientation” section of your MYCCNY home page. It will be required that you click on the link for one of the available dates in order to reserve your spot for that particular date.

I hope my answers have been helpful. Please feel free to re-post, or contact me at my office, if you have any more questions.

Regards,
