I am Indian, Female, a junior, and going to graduate in 2011. I am currently attending a engineering track school located in south texas (literally 10 miles away from mexico). I went to the sister school of my current high school, so I managed to get ahead in math, and science. My freshman year, I took chem 1 pre-ap, and biology 1 pre-ap (semester classes), and algebra 2. Sophomore year I doubled up and took chem 2 AP, and physics 1 pre-ap, and pre-cal. As of now I am taking Cal, and a exclusive Chem 3 class that just began at our school this year. You can only get into this class by having a 90 or above in your previous chem AP class, or by passing the AP. I did not pass the AP, but had the 90. I plan on retaking it this coming year. The rest of my classes were all Pre-AP, or AP. Since my school on such a difficult level, at least for me, my grades are average. I do not have gpa on hand, but if I were to guestimate I would say my gpa unweighted would be a 3.0-3.2. I will be taking my SAT's, and PSAT's this coming October. I believe that I am an excellent writer, so I'm hoping my nyu essay will be great. For EC's, I am Vice President of the Environmental Club (2 years), I am a competitor in Science UIL (Universal Interscholastic League, 2 years), and a member of PASF (Pan American Student Forum). My EC's outside of school, would be that I am a classical indian dancer, and I have finished my training, and I am now a assistant teacher to my mother who trains younger students. I play the piano, and have won several guild awards, and I also play tennis. I volunteer at a program at our local police station, called Teen Court, where teens who have committed crimes, or traffic violations are sent to a court, because they cannot afford to pay the fine, or want it erased from their record, so we determine how many hours they get of community service, and jury duties. I think what sets me apart, is that I enjoy writing sketch comedy, and I have even taken a course over the summer at Brown (Writing for Sketch Comedy).

NYU is my dream school. I would love to apply to Tisch but because of their, extremely competitive applicants, I don't believe I would have a chance. Therefore I would like to apply to CAS. Probably majoring in Pre-Law, and a minor in Theater. I'm still debating whether it would be smart to send my portfolio of sketches to CAS, if it could improve my chances. If you you could please let me know chances, things I need to improve on, or any questions, etc.
