Future Lawyer... Is this the major for me?

hey guys!
I will be attending college in Florida (summer of 2015)
I want to attend law school after I get my bachelors, but I don't know what to major in first!
I think a Business Major is my top option.

This is because I want to keep my options open but I still want my major to be relevant. Any tips?

Thanks as always!

Major in whatever you’ll get the best grades in.

Business sounds good, if you are interested. One benefit would be that you will probably have to take a Business Law course and it’ll give you exposure to doing legal briefs. If you decide that law is not for you, you’d still have a useful undergraduate degree.

You can major in anything and be pre-law. That said, business is as good a major as any. If you are interested in corporate law having some background in finance, accounting etc. could prove to be useful.

I would take this time and think about what I would specialize in when I became a lawyer, from there, I would do my undergraduate in something related to that field. So for example, if you think you wanted to become a Corporate Attorney, do your undergraduate in Business Management. If you think you might want to become a Tax Attorney, do your undergraduate in Accounting to then eventually become a CPA/JD.

If your goal is to be flexible, then your best bet for a business degree is accounting or finance. Business management is a much less relevant degree in general.

Accounting/finance + CPA + JD = Endless opportunities.
