<p>My D forgot to complete/check all the appropriate boxes about intent to apply for need based and financial aid in this section at the very beginning of the app (she's being doing the app a section at a time for weeks) and now it appears to be "grayed out" in a way that we can't figure out how to go back and check the boxes. But not she has the entire app complete and ready to submit. Is there a way to go back and modify the ENTIRE section so she can check those boxes without re-doing the entire app?</p>
<p>I don’t think so; I think when she submitted the application it said specifically that it can’t be changed–of course I’m speaking as someone who applied last year, maybe that changed it, but probably not. In any case, I think your daughter should just send a letter or e-mail to admissions stating that she intends to apply for aid (which is very important to answer), and your daughter should use this as a lesson to be more careful when filling out applications.</p>
<p>If she hasn’t submitted yet, she should be able to modify. My daughter’s info actually kept disappearing after she typed it in and she kept re-doing. And one of the threads here said it could be modified after submission by creating an alternate version. So don’t give up on trying to figure this out; maybe another poster can be of more help (or the actual common app help can help?)</p>
<p>They would be grayed out if you already submitted the application. For the schools to which you haven’t submitted it yet, you can make an alternate version and modify that section.</p>
