Hey Red Raiders! I just wanted advice for next year, as I will be in Lubbock. The do's and the don't? The best clubs/parties to attend? Best dorm hall for Freshman? Things I may have to get used to? THANKYOU!!!

How about the best path to graduation and forget the clubs/parties? Just a thought!

@Wrclark351 Graduating is a no brainer for me, so I don’t need help with that, Thank-you. I’m not going to spend thousands of dollars just to do poorly in an institution… Reason why I’m asking about things that I actually DON’T know. Guess you should spend a little more time on your thoughts?- Or allegations, shall I say.

There isn’t much to do in Lubbock…not even the mall is worth going.

Get use to sandstorms and the smell of cows, and oilfield odor!

This is a party town though, so I would look into the Depot District. It is not my vibe, but that is a hot spot. Because this is a party town, I decided to move to the west end of the city so I can have peace and quiet to study when I transfer Spring 2014.

Get used to dirt. And random snow. And cow poo.
Also be aware that classes aren’t really grouped into the places you’d think they’d be a lot of times. In the semester that just finished I had a math class and an engineering class AND an ethics class all in the mass comm building. My other math class was in the chemistry building. So basically it doesn’t matter what you’re majoring in, you’ll end up all over campus.

The food is really good.
