Future Whittie?

I recently applied for RD at Whitman and am awaiting a reply. Since Whitman is my first choice school, I'm curious about what my chances are. I have several back-up options, but I would like an idea of what to expect, possibly.

Here's what was on my application:

GPA: 3.82 (cumulative)
SAT(composite): 1990 (780w,590v,620m)
AP scores: US History-5, English lang/comp-4

Courses for '09-'10: AP English Lit/comp, AP Gov and Politics, Precalculus, Physics (1 semester), French 3

So...maybe?
I'm not sure when admissions decisions will start coming out, but I'll know by the end of March.

Not a slam dunk, but a very good possibility. Did you let them know through your interview or during your visit how interested you are?

I just visited a few days ago, and talked with an admissions offiicer briefly. I indicated interest but it wasn’t a formal interview. It was difficult to get a spot to interview in the Seattle area–I called several times but they were booked…
Any suggestions?

No, it’s all in the works now. Hopefully they know that you tried to get an interview. That counts. As long as you visited and wrote some great essays, you stand a good chance in my opinion!

Hmm, I think you have a pretty good chance of getting in. Nice ECs - they’re really specific and show dedication.
Also, I’m in the orchestra and we REALLY need some more good trumpet players, so I hope you get in! Did you apply for a Campbell or Higley music scholarship? I would consider it if you haven’t already.
Are you thinking of doing a music major? I’m a music history major but I also play the cello. I’m also really involved in various ensembles around campus (I’m currently in 5… oh boy), so feel free to message me if you have any questions about Whitman’s music department. Good luck!

Don’t worry, you have a really great chance of getting in. One of my friends was admitted last year with a 3.4 gpa. Its a liberal arts school, so the focus is not just on numbers-your EC’s will have a large impact :)
