Future Williams Student?

<p>I'm a (going to be)Junior at a competitive Full IB school (public).</p>

<p>SCHOOL STATS: </p>

<p>GPA - 4.0 unweighted/ 4.4 weighted (all a's in IB)
- I am a Full IB student taking IB Enlgish, Bio, Psychology
(HL) and French, Calculus, Business (SL)
- major: Government & Economics
rank: top 5 students out of 550
MOST RIGOROUS COURSES available</p>

<p>Academic Awards:
-Scholar of the Month, NHS, Principal Honor List (All A's),
Duke of Spirit (not academic)</p>

<p>Extracirriculars:
-Track (2 years) - possible Captain senior/jr. year?
-Cross Country (2 years) - varsity this year, good chance to be Captain Senior year...I'm more passionate and involved in XC
-Mayors Youth Advisory Board (2 years) - hopefully Co-Chair, we
organize Service events in our community with the Mayor
-Uganda Club - Going to be Treasurer this year
- National Honor Society
- Diversity Club - went to Diversity Summit to plan for our
School, help plan events
- W. County Youth Advisory Council - Plan events that center
around service projects and awareness especially
addictions etc.
- Beaverton Teen Library Council - Organize library events,
advocate for Literacy in the community
- Freshman Treasurer, and running for Senior Prez.
- Active member of Church Youth Group/Active Church Member
- Helped start FCA at my school and am on the leadership team</p>

- Worked some at Dad's office doing Accounting Project</p>

<p>Hobbies: Photography & Cooking! </p>

<p>Random Extra: Working on starting a non-profit organization called Share the Sole which gives running shoes to underprivileged kids, i'll be the CEO/chair/founder. It will be fully operational and working by Christmas time, working on that in spare time.</p>

<p>SAT: Haven't taken, but practice tests range from 2100 - 2270
SAT 2: US Hist: 660 (yes, i know it sucks), going to take Bio, Math 2, French.. won't rest until i can get 700-750</p>

<p>Your grades look excellent. SAT I will be fine. EC's look good, it sounds like you're really into service. With good essays and recs, you should be in the running, which is about all you can really ask for at most of the schools you're targetting.</p>

<p>I'm curious, how are you in NHS if you are just now a junior?</p>

<p>I'm not sure about the OP's situation, but in my school juniors that qualify are inducted in May into the NHS. They only have to keep their grades up senior year.</p>

<p>At our school, we get inducted in Sept/Oct. so i suppose its a bit too early to say i'm in, but i'm one of the best kids at my school, so i would be shocked if they said no?</p>

<p>Is Williams a friendly and happy school?</p>

<p>When I visited this summer the students that were there seemed friendly and happy, but I can't make a guarantee one way or the other until I visit during the year. FWIW, Princeton Review 2007 gives Williams a Quality of Life rating of 96. The 20th ranked Quality of Life school (Pepperdine) has a 97.</p>
