I'm trying to figure out my FWS ballot, but the problem is that I'm uncertain with a lot of classes in my schedule--some of them will definitely be dropped during orientation, and I might add one as well (and change around a discussion or two).

So, knowing that, how on earth do I go about creating a freshman year writing seminar ballot? Can I choose ones that have times that are already taken by a discussion section? What if I can't get out of the discussion? Can I put as my third choice a class that's already taken by another class, and, if I get that FWS, can I change my schedule around?

Thanks--and I apologize for the basic questions!

Most importantly, make sure your FWS fits whatever your CURRENT schedule (even if it’s a mess) is. Secondly, if you have a schedule in mind that you’re hoping for that might be possible once add/drop begins, then plan for a FWS that fits both the one you hope for and your current one. They will not assign you a FWS if it conflicts with any class currently on your schedule, EVEN if you plan to switch out of it during add/drop. FWS, btw, can be changed during add/drop.
