<p>To assess chance, I would use the stats for admitted students. On the other hand, the caliber of the student body is reflected by the stats of entering students.</p>

<p>^I think the data you posted is for international students, not American students. So if the point of this thread was to scare people into seeing what it takes to get into Northwestern, remember that internationals are held up to higher standards than nationals pretty much everywhere since the competition is so much more fierce.</p>

<p>^No. The first link provides data for all admitted students, not just international students. Northwestern prefers to post stats for enrolled students and that page for international students is the only place that has the range for admitted students. </p>

<p>The point is to show the significant difference between data of admitted and entering students for Northwestern. People often confuse the two. For HYP, those two would be nearly identical. I've seen quite a few people on this board made the mistake of comparing stats of admitted students for one school with stats of entering students for another.</p>

<p>I don't think that's the same as an overall range of enrolled SAT avg of 1350-1520, which would make the median 1435 because that would assume the high math scorers are also the high verbal scorers.</p>
