If you have friends who applied for transfer, you might want to check in with them to see how they're doing.

So I got waitlisted as a transfer student…just like I did as a first time applicant.

Can someone please tell me the stats regarding waitlist students and their subsequent acceptance rate?

I got in! So stoked!

Got waitlisted! i was so sure i was gonna get rejected from the School of Nursing.
Dean J, Transfermer, Dr. Carroll and everyone of the deans, thanks for at least considering me one more time. I had a 2.7 in HS, mediocre grades, 1150 SAT, 3.4 in community college.
I think it was my essay, recs and ECC’s though…I’m gonna keep on praying i get off the waitlist and can call myself a Wahoo by the end of May or June!
Best of luck to everyone else!! :)

UVAFan, if you’re in CC, why not apply under the GAA? I think 3.4 is the GPA cut off there.

Theclone,
I’m a freshmen in college, I thought you could only apply under the GAA for your 2nd year of college?
But if I have to do that, God forbid, I’ll apply under the GAA next yr :)

Congrats! That’s really quite an accomplishment given your stats.

I got rejected, and I am quite perplexed. I applied to transfer into UVA as a second year. I graduated top 5% of my class, 3.95 gpa in high school, and am in-state. I am currently taking 19 hours at PVCC and working 38 hours a week, all while maintaining a 4.0. My EC’s are great… eagles scout, honors society, etc. Yet I got rejected. Dean J, do you have any idea how I was not even waitlisted?

UVAFan, ah, that’s probably why you were waitlisted instead of accepted. I had a rocky high school history but drastically improved my situation during my time at CC. If you don’t manage to get off the waitlist and into UVA for the next year, you should definitely consider the GAA. I got in without out but I was almost sure I’d get a denial.

I hope to see you around campus either this fall or the next!

theclone,
Thanks! I’m really praying and crossing my fingers i get off the waitlist and accepted! I swear i was sooo sure i was gonna get a flat out rejection lol. I hope that once i show some interest in the University and maybe send one more recommendation, it’ll change their mind…although it’s still probably all a numbers game with waitlisters
