FYI, you can look up your professors' salaries online.

I thought I'd share this tidbit with y'all.

The salaries of all California state employees are public information. That includes UC professors.

Look up their salaries here:

State Worker Salary Search - The Sacramento Bee, Sacramento, California

For department, select "UC Los Angeles."

Very interesting, thanks.

FYI - you are legally entitled to know the salary of any government worker

Looking at all these numbers is fun. Lots of variation.

I feel the coaches at any university are always overpaid. It upsets me.

Man being a professor seems pretty chill…no need to grade anything and just speak for a couple of hours 2/4 days a week.

LOL, Philosoup. My dad is a professor and the hardest-working person I know. He’s often up until 1 am, working. He loves what he does, but it’s not easy.

^ word. that’s my dad as well. It is not an easy job.

You don’t even have to be related to a professor to understand that their jobs are difficult and stressful… Philosoup do you even know how much time and effort goes into planning a lecture? Have you ever spoken in front of a group of people for 90+ minutes?

Also, lecturing isn’t even the primary responsibility for most professors. Coming up with novel research ideas, doing the necessary construction and experiments, and then putting all that into the form of a paper/report/book is not easy. Trying to get funding is a real pain, too.

They are getting almost a million dollars per year! Wow…Why are they so angry then?

waw! interesting!! thanks
