I was just looking at the choices for the FYS seminars and am not sure which one to take. I plan on majoring in business so I think my choices are limited to the seminars offered in history, behavioral science, literature or fine arts, philosophy, and theology. I'm leaning towards philosophy but am a little wary because I don't know how difficult it will be. Any suggestions on which seminar I should take?

Each seminar is really unique but I do not believe that many of them are overtly difficult. I took a theology seminar and had a great experience with it. The best way to gauge the difficulty would probably be to check out NDToday’s teacher evals. Most of the evaluations are angry rants but you might find one or two constructive reviews in the mix. This might give you an idea about which seminar to pursue.

use you netID to log onto NDToday.com and get the teacher evaluations. also, seminars cover the university requirements, so they all can be used for double (since you fulfill the university requirement and seminar requirement).

they are discussion based, as classes are only 18 large, and there is more writing, so make sure you pick on that you really enjoy, not the best fit for getting through requirements right away - though for many theology/philosophy are great opportunities to vent and learn about their core beliefs.
